Give your baby a
Healthy Start

Healthy Start is a program that will help you start your pregnancy the right way. At Healthy Start, our mission is to improve the health of our participants between pregnancies, improve pregnancy outcomes and promote positive parenting skills to assure a healthy start for you and your baby.

Give your baby a healthy start by taking advantage of our services. They are free if you qualify. Contact your health care provider or call Healthy Start at (904) 253-1390.

At Healthy Start, we provide a variety of services including:

  • Emotional Support and Counseling

  • Case Management

  • Home Visits

  • Childbirth Education

  • Information and Referrals

  • Substance Abuse Counseling

We also offer educational materials and classes to assist women in:

  • Breastfeeding Support

  • Family Planning

  • Smoking Cessation

  • Healthy Eating

  • Immunization

  • Child Safety

  • Parenting

Who can get Healthy Start Services?
Any pregnant women who lives in Duval County can receive our services. Also, any child from birth to age three who lives in Duval County is eligible.

What is Healthy Start?
Healthy Start is a voluntary and free program available to all families in the community wanting to deliver and care for a healthy baby.

How can I enroll in Healthy Start?
Contact your healthcare provider or Healthy Start and ask to fill out a Healthy Start screening form. The form is a short questionnaire and your answers are confidential.
